Admissions- What do I do if I want my child to attend Discovery?

Discovery Academy is a special school with 80 planned places for children aged 7– 16 who either have a diagnosis of autism, or are on the diagnostic pathway with a strong view from professionals that you child will be diagnosed.  They may also have related Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Needs. Some children may also have specific learning difficulties (SPLD) which results in them working below age-related expectations in some subjects.

For a child to be admitted, the school must be named, by a local authority, in the child’s Education, Health and Care Plan (‘EHCP’).

The school is not responsible for allocating school places as the above process must be followed.
