Discovery Academy is a school for children and young people, aged 7-16 with special educational needs based in the Norfolk Park area of Sheffield. The school has a strong ethos on inspiring youngsters to learn, believing that they are able to overcome any barriers to achieve their absolute full potential. Class Teacher Maths Specialist (Maternity Cover) - KS2 Upwards
Hours: 32.5 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term, Full-Time
Start date: January 2025
End Date: August 2025

Bank Teaching Assistants
As a bank Teaching Assistant, you would be required to work as and when needed. This could be for planned staff absence or last minute staff illness, so there would be no guarantee of hours. Your responsibilities will include supervising activities in the classroom and supporting pupils who need learning support, under the leadership of a qualified teacher. Additionally, you may be required to support pupils outside the classroom in 1:1s or focus group sessions, or supervise lunch or break duty.
